How To Use Our Student eLearning Portal

At our Tamil School we believe that ‘practice makes perfect’. So, to help our students practice their Tamil skills, we have created an eLearning Portal which students can access any time. Here are all the steps to using the resources available in our eLearning portal.

Logging In

1. Find Login on the Navigation bar and hover over it. Click on Student Login.
2. Login. Student’s login details have been emailed to their parents.
3. You will now find yourself at the eLearning Portal homepage.

Online Quizzes

Students complete quizzes to earn more and more quiz points. The top 10 students are placed on the ‘Wall of Fame’. At the end of the year, the top three students who have actively engaged with this program for the greatest number of days will receive an award at our prize giving ceremony.

Students are to complete their assigned quizzes every week. Once, they have completed their assigned quizzes, they can study the ‘Additional Task’ quizzes.

1. To start a quiz, click on ‘Quiz’.
2. Click ‘Start’ and complete the questions.
3. Click ‘Next’ to proceed to the next question.
4. Once you complete all the questions, click ‘Finish and View Results’.
5. You will then see your score. For each correct answer, you will earn 10 points.
6. Click ‘Home’ to return to the homepage or ‘Review Quiz’ to complete the quiz again.
7. You can only receive points for a quiz once for each 7 days. The points you receive for the quiz will be the highest score you achieved during those 7 days.

Spelling

Students can practice their spelling skills using our eLearning Portal.

1. Click on ‘Resources’ and then ‘சொற்களஞ்சியம்’.
2. Here you will find the wordlist for the Spelling Tests. Practice spelling these words by clicking on the ‘Practice’ button.
3. When you are ready to complete the spelling test, click on ‘சொல்வதெழுதல்’.
4. Click on ‘Start Spelling Test’ to begin.
5. Click on ‘Listen to Word’ to listen to the word. You can listen to the word as many times as you can.
6. Spell the word using the Tamil keyboard on the screen. If you click the shift key, you will see more letters.
7. Click submit to move on to the next word.
8. Once you finish the test you will receive your score. When you receive 100% on a spelling list, you receive a new one. Until then, you keep practicing the same list.

eLibrary

Our eLibrary provides students access to many books. Once you finish reading a book, complete its relevant quiz.

1. Click on ‘E Library’ and then ‘E Library’.
2. You have now found our eLibrary.
3. Click ‘Read’ to read the book.
4. When reading the book, click on the arrow button to go to the next page.
5. You can click on the full screen button to make the book larger.
6. Once you finish reading the book, scroll down and click on ‘Start Quiz’.
7. Click ‘Next’ to proceed to the next question.
8. After answering all the questions, double check your answers and then click ‘Finish & View Results’ to submit.
9. Check your results to see how well you understood the book.
